Plates for ball manufacturers
We use cast iron for our plates as it is our preferred medium to meet market needs such as fast cutting, long plate life, ball size and ball materials.
Our durable plates are available in a variety of sizes for a range of machines. We also provide additional aids to improve ball productivity, such as soft inlet wear bars, which are produced in cast iron to our own specifications. The material and hardness can be specified to suit your specified parameters such as ball size, and preferences towards cut-rate or plate life.
We can provide bespoke plates as per your designs, and can also modify our plate and wear bar designs to suit your specifications. Contact us for more details. We also provide plates for flat lapping worldwide.
Geis Vertical
Available in sizes 920mm, 720mm, 475mm, 444mm and 400mm. For 400, 440, 720 and 920 sets with rotating closed plate and pocket type fixed plate to lap or flash.
Geis Horizontal
Available in sizes 920mm, 720mm, 475mm, 444mm and 400mm. For 400, 440, 720 and 920 sets with rotating closed plate and pocket type fixed plate to lap or flash.
Koehler
Available in sizes 36", 30" and 24". Parallel gap style with and without tie bar in sizes 24", 30" and 36" for flashing and lapping, as sets or single gap for grinding. Fully machined or semi-finished version available.
MPB / MRB / MLB
Available in sizes 36" and 800mm. The sets are supplied with alternative thicknesses (78mm or 100mm). The grinding gap plate version is also available. Tie bars are optional.
Henan / Chinese Flash & Grind
This is available in one size (800mm). Chinese vertical spindle flashing or lapping sets are supplied in 800mm dia. Unmachined recesses in the bottom plate give three point mounting.
Messerschmidt
Available in sizes 720mm and 440mm. There are various angled openings for the SFM top plate and standard rotating plate supplier in materials to suit ball size. SLM sets are also available.
Noonan
We offer a wide range of Nishida style flashing, grinding, G1, G2 and G3 or lapping L1 and L2 sets supplied as 700 and 760 dia.

Available in sizes 36" and 800mm. The sets are supplied with alternative thicknesses (78mm or 100mm). The grinding gap plate version is also available. Tie bars are optional.
Wear bars
Wear bars are available either as soft cast iron or plastic.
A strip of material across the inlet face of the gap reduces ball damage.
Time utilised for Machining or Hand Re-grooving of the inlet flutes is also reduced.
The original gap opening remains, with part of the plate cut back to accommodate this feature.
